Class 2 Driver – Textile & Recycling Collections
Driver Hire Nottingham are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking Class 2 Driver to join one of our growing textile and recycling clients.
This is more than just a driving role – it’s an opportunity to support a business focused on reducing landfill waste and giving valuable resources a second life through recycling and redistribution.
The Role
As a Class 2 Driver, you will work alongside a dedicated Drivers Mate travelling across the UK, collecting clothing and textile donations from donation banks and returning collections to base for sorting and redistribution.
- Driving a modern, well‑maintained HGV Class 2 vehicle
- Working as part of a two‑person team (Driver & Mate)
- Emptying textile donation banks across various locations
- Loading and unloading bags and bundles of textiles
- Completing daily vehicle checks and defect reporting
- Maintaining accurate paperwork and records
- Delivering excellent customer service at collection sites
- Ensuring all driving and health & safety procedures are followed
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Valid Driver CPC qualification card
- Digital Tachograph card
- Good level of physical fitness due to manual handling involved
- A professional and safety‑conscious attitude
- The right to work in the UK
Hours & Pay
- Monday to Friday
- 7:00am starts
- Assignment rates starting from £17.75 per hour
- Daily overtime paid
- Ongoing agency work with the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate
