The Role
Join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde’s MSK Physiotherapy Service – the largest of its kind in the UK – where delivering outstanding patient care goes hand in hand with investing in your personal and professional development. As a Band 3 Physiotherapy Support Worker, you will play a vital role within a supportive, experienced team, helping people aged 14+ improve mobility, function, and quality of life. Based initially at Clydebank Health Centre within our West Quadrant (covering 9 sites), you will contribute to both individual and group rehabilitation. This is a rewarding, hands‑on role where you will work closely with Physiotherapists while developing your clinical and communication skills. Full training and supervision will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity to grow within a leading NHS organisation.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
Part‑Time, Permanent. Base Location: Clydebank Health Centre within our West Quadrant (covering 9 sites). Shift Pattern: To be confirmed. Driving licence – Desirable. The salary is pro‑rata for part‑time hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver group gym sessions and exercise classes to support rehabilitation and self‑management.
- Implement individual 1:1 treatment programmes as prescribed by Physiotherapists.
- Undertake initial patient assessments within the scope of practice, such as OA pathway and mobility assessments.
- Monitor patient progress and provide regular feedback to Physiotherapists on outcomes and response to treatment.
- Support patients and carers with clear advice, encouragement and motivation to maximise recovery.
- Carry out administrative duties including booking appointments, maintaining records and entering patient data.
- Work collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary team and contribute to high standards of patient care across sites.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
- SVQ Level 3 in Health Sciences or equivalent experience, or relevant experience in a healthcare, rehabilitation or social care setting.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate a diverse patient group.Ability to work independently within defined protocols and as part of a wider team.
- Basic IT skills, including data entry, word processing and use of clinical systems.
- Willingness to complete and maintain mandatory training such as Moving and Handling, CPR and Fire Safety.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and continuous professional development.
- Previous NHS or therapy assistant experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
