SEMH Primary Teaching Assistant – North London
SEMH Teaching Assistant – Permanent – Salary £21,000 to £25,000 a day – ASAP Start.
Responsibilities
- Support primary pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs within an alternative provision.
- Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support pupils inside and outside of the classroom.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils regulate emotions, manage behaviour, and engage with learning.
- Implement behaviour support strategies and support during lessons.
- Build strong relationships with pupils to encourage progress and positive outcomes.
Qualifications/Experience
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs.
- Confident managing challenging behaviour in a classroom setting.
- Previous experience working with challenging behaviour.
- Resilience, calm under pressure, and ability to work in an alternative provision.
