Role Overview
Grade: CD. Contract: Permanent. Hours: 27.5 per week. Location: Northallerton, North Yorkshire.
The Integrated Passenger Transport Operations Team is responsible for the safe and efficient use of approximately 120 minibuses used to transport people in North Yorkshire. The team delivers around 250,000 passenger journeys per year, including 20,000 wheelchair user journeys, enabling access to schools, day centres, learning opportunities, supported employment and other meaningful activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure passenger safety during journeys and that safety equipment is used correctly.
- Assist passengers to board and alight safely.
- Maintain daily communication with passengers, carers, establishment staff and colleagues.
- Drive social care, school and local bus routes, completing split shifts where required.
- Apply flexible working hours to meet demand and adapt to customer needs.
Qualifications and Requirements
- All drivers must hold a valid D1 driving licence entitlement.
- Experience driving minibus type vehicles or in a similar role is an advantage, though not essential.
- Enhanced DBS Background Check is required.
Working Hours
Typical split shift: 07:30‑10:30 am and 14:30‑17:30 pm, with variation to fit customer needs. Hours are generally Monday‑Friday.
