Overview

We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Guillotine Operator to join our busy team. This role involves working with sheet metal guillotines to cut materials accurately and safely, following drawings and job specifications. No previous guillotine experience is required, as full training will be provided. What’s important to us is a strong attention to detail, confidence using basic measuring tools, and a hands‑on approach to work. Schedule

Shift pattern: Monday‑Thursday 7:45 am–4:30 pm; Friday 8 am–1 pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cutting down and finishing sheet material in line with customer requirements.
  • Manufacturing pallets in line with bespoke jobs.
  • Packing products in line with customer requirements and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintaining and accurately recording all details on the computer‑based stock control system and other supporting documentation.
  • Promoting continuous improvement processes to maximise stock productivity and minimise waste in all operational processes.
  • Ensuring that all products are handled in the most appropriate manner to eliminate any damage or health hazards, in accordance with Health and Safety regulations and Thyssenkrupp Aerospace Handling and Storage Procedures.
  • Updating the computer‑based stock control system along with supporting documentation.
  • Maximising stock utilisation to achieve the best stock utilisation possible, in adherence with Thyssenkrupp quality and working procedures and practices.
  • Clearly identifying all stock and customer parts in accordance with Thyssenkrupp and customer requirements at all times.
  • Ensuring conformance to Health and Safety operating regulations for employees, visitors and self while engaged on company business.
  • General warehouse duties.

Qualifications

Essential Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Previous experience on guillotining or similar machines.
  • Understanding of materials handling for all processed products in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.
  • Self‑motivated, reliable, diligent, analytical and numerate.
  • PC literate.
  • Ability to understand and use various types of measuring equipment.
  • Ability to be trained and understand being a business‑approved stamp holder.

Desirable Experience, Skills and Knowledge

  • Counter‑balance truck licence.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety at Work legislation and its practical application.
  • Understanding of the full scope of quality processes applicable to handling of materials.
  • Ability to use all relevant areas of the manufacturing computer‑based control system and all its supporting requirements.
