ABOUT THE WORTHGATE SCHOOL

The Worthgate School offers an outstanding international pre‑university educational experience to students aged 13+ from all over the world. We pride ourselves on our approach to teaching and learning, with small class sizes and an informal atmosphere ensuring that students are treated as individuals and build great relationships with staff.

JOB OVERVIEW

TEACHER OF PSYCHOLOGY (FULL‑TIME OR PART‑TIME)

Are you looking for a teaching role, where you can devote time to educating international students with the highest aspirations? Our student body is diverse, inspiring and ever‑growing in number. Consequently, an exciting opportunity has arisen to teach Psychology within the Humanities department at the Worthgate School. The Humanities department offers a broad range of subjects within a variety of programmes of study: GCSE, PRE, A‑level, IB Diploma and University Foundation programmes. Subject disciplines include History, Geography, Environmental Systems and Societies, Psychology, Sociology, Global Politics, International Relations.

As a teacher, this is a fantastic and truly unique environment in which to work. Class sizes are small, and students are motivated to learn and ultimately progress to excellent universities. Hence applicants who particularly relish teaching at A‑level standard will find the Worthgate School hugely enjoyable and fulfilling. The Humanities disciplines are very popular subjects with our students, who also often apply to related university courses, both nationally and internationally. Consequently, we are not only looking for a teacher who can harness the international contexts of our classrooms and offer an inclusive environment for students to engage in dialogue and develop their academic skills, but also someone who can drive engaging co‑curricular opportunities for our students and staff. We expect teachers to be involved in our super‑curricular activities, ‘Electives’, where currently members of the faculty offer MUN, EPQ, Philosophy and Psychology Societies.

Applicants should also evidence a commitment to their professional development. There are excellent, funded opportunities at Worthgate for successful applicants to undertake the NPQ qualifications (Leading Teacher Development, Senior Leadership, NPQ SENCO) with us in partnership with UCL, and multiple teachers enrol on these NPQ programmes each year. Since we belong to a wider group of schools (CATS Global Schools), the academic team benefit from cross‑school collaborations and events. Staff are encouraged to identify and contribute to such professional relationships.
