Job Role
Domestic Assistant, based at Plas Dol-y-Moch, Coventry’s Outdoor Education Centre in North Wales.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, sanitised, tidy, and safe environment for children.
- Support the kitchen team with general kitchen and dining room duties.
- Perform deep cleaning of communal areas, bedrooms, showers, and toilets on changeover days.
- Assist in the preparation, delivery and clearing up of both breakfasts and evening meals.
- Assist in cleaning of the Centre in preparation for forthcoming courses.
Most of our customers are school children between the ages of 10 and 18 years old, and the Centre can accommodate up to 78 students and 9 members of visiting staff.
Hours
Most hours are worked during school term time.
Requirements
- Right to Work in the UK (no sponsorship offered).
- Exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974; appointment conditional upon a satisfactory DBS check.
- No formal qualifications required, but experience in catering, housekeeping or a busy residential setting is an advantage.
- Approachable, patient, and able to create a welcoming and safe environment for schoolchildren aged 10–18.
- Strong attention to detail, positive attitude, and a flexible approach to work.
