Position Concept
As the post holder, you will be expected to have detailed understanding of electrical infrastructure. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for the inspection, operation and maintenance of all associated assets within the Data Centre, with a primary focus on electrical asset maintenance (planned, reactive and corrective). With a drive to increase reliability through proactive maintenance standards, the day electrical technician will take ownership of any issues related to electrical systems within the facility. While supporting the shift teams in overall delivery of day‑to‑day operations in line with CBRE/Client Day Electrical Technician process and procedures. There is also potential for you to be an HV Authorised Person for the site and actively contribute to the successful delivery of all critical works.
Key Tasks
- Operate all electrical systems within the data centre efficiently including electrical isolations/operations.
- Make recommendations for improvement and provide concise technical reports when required.
- Work closely with the data centre shift teams to ensure that all specialist subcontractor visits are conducted in line with approved SOP, MOP, PTW and client day electrical technician change requests.
- Ensure that specialist subcontractor worksheets are signed off where necessary, that quality of work has been inspected and recommendations communicated to the data centre shift leader.
- Provide backup as engineering relief cover in the event of annual leave, training or other absence.
- Accurately report all completed work orders, including precise recording of any critical spares/stock items used.
- Attend requested meetings in conjunction with CBRE management.
- Undertake relevant EOP scenario drills (mock drills).
- Respond to all data centre client requests within SLA.
- Undertake planned, reactive and corrective maintenance tasks as requested.
- Participate in QHSE compliance activities such as hazard/near‑miss reporting and regular toolbox talks.
- Comply with client day electrical technician CEM process and procedures when undertaking all relevant work orders.
- Liaise with the supply chain when ordering M&E components for remedial works.
- Attend nominated training courses in line with the DCS training matrix.
- Undertake site‑specific technical assessments and skills gap analysis at intervals defined by CBRE/Client.
- Ensure that all plant rooms under CBRE control are maintained to required show‑site standards.
- Evaluate and escale potential risks, assessing impact, probable causes and mitigation opportunities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of safe systems of work and compliance with QHSE policy and procedures.

Personal Specification
- Relevant electrical experience in maintenance and repairs, preferably within a critical environment.
- Electrical authorised person (HV & LV systems).
- Proactive towards operational excellence.
- Good IT and report writing skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while remaining calm and compositional, providing timely services to clients.
- Willingness to attend on and off‑site training, which may require nights away from home.
- Physical fitness.
- A high level of initiative.
- A smart, presentable uniformed appearance.
- Ability to comprehend and act upon both verbal and written instructions.
- Enthusiastic, diligent, alert and ready to participate in appropriate training schemes.
- Integrity, honesty and punctuality.
