About the RoleHummingbird Care, a small residential care home with 18 beds, is seeking a Senior Care Worker (Team Leader) to oversee a team of three carers. Located in the scenic Blackdown Hills, just a short drive from Taunton, Wellington, Chard, Honiton, and Hemyock, this role requires strong leadership, adaptability, and excellent communication skills with multi‑disciplinary teams.

Role Overview

You will lead daily operations, liaise confidently with healthcare professionals, and ensure the home’s vision and values are upheld. The role offers development opportunities for the right candidate, with NVQ Level 3 preferred but NVQ Level 2 considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of three carers
  • Liaise with multi‑disciplinary teams by phone and in person
  • Ensure daily objectives and routines are met
  • Follow management instructions and align with the home’s vision and values
  • Provide high‑quality care and support to residents

Candidate Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care preferred (NVQ Level 2 considered with adjusted pay)
  • Highly organised and adaptable
  • Confident communicator with healthcare professionals
  • Experience in care (minimum 2 years required for sponsorship candidates)
  • Full UK Driving Licence required for sponsorship applicants
