PE Global is currently recruiting for a Design Engineer for a leading multi-national manufacturing client based in Peterborough. This is an initial 24 month contract position working fully on site. Pay Rate is £35.37ph PAYE or £48.01ph Umbrella
***This role will be focused on design solutions to address challenging requirements, from projects within New Product Introduction. Design and packaging engine components such as major aluminium and cast iron castings, geartrain, valvetrain, drivetrain and in-cylinder components. Input to system design development for the breather, cooling, FEAD & lubrication system Planning and managing project and sub-project deliverables, ability to lead Conducting risk assessment through effective FMEA generation on components and systems to identify and address design risks and determine validation needs. Generate and conduct design reviews to gain wider approval Expert level of expertise in complex CAD geometry using CREO10~3 to 5 years of experience in internal combustion engines, diesel and off-highway diesel.~ Strong understanding of casting and machining processes related to casting of complex cast iron components~ Minimum of 6 years design experience in CAD~ Strong technical background (HNC or technical degree preferred in mechanical or automotive engineering) though other qualifications or experience are equally valued~ Good understanding of Manufacturing Assembly principles~ Design knowledge of engine & mechanical components and systems~ Knowledge and usage of Team Centre – or similar data management software is advantageous~ Experience gained in the off-highway diesel or machine sector advantageous~…
