The Faculty of Science and Technology at Lancaster University is seeking to appoint a part-time (0.6FTE) Administrative Assistant. Primarily to support the general Administrative functions within the Psychology Department. This will primarily include: processing of financial claims; supporting Human Resource processes; servicing various formal Department committees; and any other general administration tasks as required.
Due to the extension of an existing secondment, this vacancy is available fixed-term until 31 October 2026. If you would like to be considered for the vacancy as a secondment opportunity, please gain your line manager’s approval prior to application.
About You
The successful candidate will:
Be able to demonstrate experience of using Microsoft Office software, database and spreadsheet packages.
Be able to work in a team and have a flexible approach.
Have experience of prioritising workload to meet competing deadlines without close supervision.
Be able to demonstrate a commitment to delivering a high level of customer service.

The Psychology Department is a busy teaching and research active Department. It is home to a friendly group of around Academic staff, with teams of Research and Professional Services and Technical staff. The Department supports a large cohort of Undergraduate students; a thriving group of Masters and Postgraduate research students; and a wide range of research projects including several cross-institution grants.
