We are seeking a Service Technician to provide exceptional customer service and technical support, ensuring the maintenance and operation of plant and equipment covered under our service contracts. The role focuses on diagnosing issues, executing preventive and corrective maintenance, enhancing customer experience, and improving technical processes.
Position Overview
As a Service Technician, you will perform field work, including Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), warranty work, and commissioning, and serve as a trusted point of contact for customers. You will collaborate with service, sales, and operations teams to share insights and use advanced software tools for diagnostics and repairs.
Key Responsibilities
Customer and Technical
- Diagnose system problems during product servicing and customer site visits.
- Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Customer Breakdowns, Warranty work, Hire and Commissioning workloads.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships as a trusted point of contact.
- Collaborate with Service Desk, Sales, and Operations to share customer insights.
- Use cutting‑edge software, diagnostic tools, and hand‑tools following blueprints or engineering specifications.
- Generate regular reports on completed, invoiced work orders.
- Communicate updates with supervisors, service managers, and customers to drive continuous improvement.
Internal Controls and Administration
- Proven experience in a service or field‑based technician role.
- Strong knowledge of customer service principles.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate technicians to deliver excellent customer experiences.
- Effective communication skills.
- Analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic software, apps, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Skills and Capabilities
- Knowledge of the manufacturing industry is an advantage.
- Strong people and communication skills with a positive mindset.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Appropriate skill‑based certificates, including F‑Gas compliance.
- Availability for standby and call‑outs on a planned schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- UK Driver’s licence; company vehicle will be allocated.
- Right to work status confirmed for the country of application.
