We are looking for a motivated, resourceful, and committed individual to join our team as a Male Support Worker at our Learning Disabilities service in Wigan.
As a Support Worker you will be providing person‑centred care for our service users, supporting them in aspects of everyday life, while also supporting them to enjoy a wide range of activities. You will have skills in positive communication and engagement, dealing with behaviours that are challenging and will be able to demonstrate unconditional positive regard for the people we support.
Responsibilities
- Develop daily living skills and accessing educational, vocational and leisure activities with service users
- Build confidence, self‑esteem, hope and positive coping skills in service users
- Develop the individual Person‑Centred Support Plans aimed at happiness, health, and achieving goals and aspirations
- Implement guidelines and risk management plans, and work positively within a consistent, mutually supportive team ethos
Qualifications
We welcome applications from experienced practitioners, graduates, and individuals looking to pursue a career in social care. Experience is not essential, but you must have a warm, caring nature, and a commitment to making a positive difference in people’s lives.
