Job description:
An opportunity has arisen for a Wellbeing Support Worker to join Ty Nant Ddu, Day Opportunities on a full‑time basis. We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic people who wish to advance their careers. One post requires experience or interest in gardening or woodwork to support our outside projects.
The successful candidates will focus on “what matters” to the people they support and build relationships with individuals and carers to help them achieve outcomes that matter. The role is based at Ty Nant Ddu Resource Centre in Pontypool, but will involve working at outside projects and outreach in the community around the Borough.
Responsibilities
- Encourage people to live well and as independently as possible and participate in their community.
- Enable people to achieve their outcomes by taking responsibility and leading aspects of their outcome‑driven plan.
- Promote active citizenship and assist people, their families or support circles to take the lead in decision‑making.
- Work in a truly person‑centred way, following the direction from the person, their family or support members.
- Enable people’s capabilities, develop relationships and friendships, and expand circles of support.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to meet essential criteria as outlined in the attached Person Specification.
- Experience in working with adults requiring support in social and wellbeing contexts.
