Assistant Store Manager Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in daily store operations.
• Take charge of the store when the Store Manager is absent.
• Assist in managing and motivating the team to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
• Support day‑to‑day operations including locking up, key responsibilities and alarm response.
• Drive and uphold highest customer service through team engagement and product expertise.
• Build and maintain connections within the local community aligned with the store’s vision.
• Lead and inspire the team to achieve sales targets and KPI’s to improve profitability.
• Create rotas, recruit, induct new staff, and conduct training and development.
• Execute visual merchandising, product and brand launches per company direction.
• Assist in organising, planning and implementing the store’s vision and purpose.
• Manage stock inventory, deliveries and general maintenance; knowledge of Shopify preferred.
• Delegate and monitor team workload, train and supervise for optimal results.
• Support Health & Safety operations.

Assistant Store Manager Qualifications

• Retail managerial experience preferred.
• A commercial understanding with ability to lead and motivate a team to deliver outstanding customer service.
• Interest and knowledge of the surf sector is essential.
• Passion for surf products, brands, and lifestyle.
