Assistant Store Manager Responsibilities
- Support the Store Manager in daily store operations.
- Take charge of the store when the Store Manager is absent.
- Assist in managing and motivating the team to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.
- Support day‑to‑day operations including locking up, key responsibilities and alarm response.
- Drive and uphold highest customer service through team engagement and product expertise.
- Build and maintain connections within the local community aligned with the store’s vision.
- Lead and inspire the team to achieve sales targets and KPI’s to improve profitability.
- Create rotas, recruit, induct new staff, and conduct training and development.
- Execute visual merchandising, product and brand launches per company direction.
- Assist in organising, planning and implementing the store’s vision and purpose.
- Manage stock inventory, deliveries and general maintenance; knowledge of Shopify preferred.
- Delegate and monitor team workload, train and supervise for optimal results.
- Support Health & Safety operations.
Assistant Store Manager Qualifications
- Retail managerial experience preferred.
- A commercial understanding with ability to lead and motivate a team to deliver outstanding customer service.
- Interest and knowledge of the surf sector is essential.
- Passion for surf products, brands, and lifestyle.
