Responsibilities
- Build effective and engaging relationships with young people in the Criminal Justice System, enhancing their life chances
- Supervise young people on Court Orders with holistic and analytical assessments, planning and implementing innovative interventions
- Collaborate with key agencies (education, social care, health) to forge positive partnerships
- Represent the Youth Justice Service with competence and confidence in Court
- Implement programmes that support desistance and divert young people from offending
- Encourage restorative processes and foster enhanced victim empathy
- Reinforce parental responsibilities and provide support to parents in this role
Essential Qualifications
- A professional qualification relevant to one of the partner agencies (social services, police, education, youth, probation, or health services), such as Diploma in Social Work
- Diploma in Probation Studies
- Diploma in Youth and Community Studies
- Certificate of Education
- Or substantial in‑service training with evidence of validated learning and achievement
