Job Title
Electrical Trainer (Full-time, with flexible part-time opportunities for suitable candidates).
Pay & Working Hours
Salary: £45,000 per annum (pro‑rated for part-time).
Role Overview
The Electrical Trainer delivers the full scope of CTP Electrical Engineering training to Service Leavers, supporting their skills development and transition into sustainable employment. Responsibilities include developing training programmes, lesson plans, and ensuring content stays current with awarding body requirements and industry changes.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Deliver electrical training to learners in an engaging manner that meets diverse learning styles and awarding body standards.
- Support the Head of Engineering with annual course planning and programme updates.
- Assist with exam/assessment administration, including invigilation.
- Maintain a professional training environment, keeping facilities and workshops current and well‑equipped.

Qualifications & Experience
- UK Electrical industry experience / on‑site experience.
- Domestic Electrical Installation, BS7671 18th edition amendment 2 knowledge.
- Level 3 Qualification in Inspection & Testing.
- Level 4 certification in Education and Training, Assessor qualification, or willingness to obtain within role.
- ATQA – Training, Assessment & Quality Assurance or equivalent Level3, or willingness to acquire.
- Minimum of 2 A-Levels or equivalent Level3 Diploma.
- Manual skills: soldering, PVC and galvanised conduit/trunking assembly, wiring consumer units and circuits.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and willingness to use new classroom technology.
- Excellent time‑management, organisational skills, attention to detail.
- Resilient, persistent, clear and confident communicator.
- Experience in an electrical teaching environment preferred.
Desirable Criteria
- Knowledge of awarding bodies and training accreditation system.
- Knowledge of the Armed Forces.
- Level4 Internal Quality Assurance award.
- Experience adapting teaching to different learning styles.
Security Clearance & Residence Requirement
Security clearance is required. Applicants must have resided in the United Kingdom for the past five years and be able to provide evidence.
