Production Operative

Job Summary

The Production Operative is responsible for supporting the manufacturing of high-quality bedding and textile products. This includes operating machinery, assembling products, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring efficient workflow within the production area.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate production machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
• Assemble homeware products to required specifications
• Monitor product quality and report any defects or issues
• Pack finished goods accurately for dispatch
• Follow production schedules to meet daily targets
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
• Carry out routine checks on machinery and report faults
• Follow company health & safety procedures and guidelines at all times
• Assist with stock handling and materials movement within the production area
• Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors

Skills & Experience Required

• Previous experience in a manufacturing/production environment
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to follow instructions and work to standard operating procedures
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for long periods
• Capable of lifting and handling materials where required
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment

Working Hours

• Monday – Thursday 2pm-11pm & Friday 1pm-4pm
• Overtime may be required during peak production periods

Health & Safety

• Adhere strictly to Comfortex health & safety policies
• Wear appropriate PPE at all times
• Report hazards, accidents, or equipment issues immediately

Salary

• £12.71 per hour
