BTHFT requires a Head of Car Parking, Logistics, Security & Transport to lead and have overall operational responsibility for the timely delivery of a high quality, affordable & professional Soft FM service within Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (BTHFT).
Main duties of the job
- Participate in national networks, supporting, developing and leading implementation of new initiatives, continuously looking for opportunities to develop Soft FM specific services, introducing new technology and ensuring BTHFT has modern fit‑for‑purpose services.
- Develop plans for continuous service improvement in line with the visions and values of the Trust.
- Operationally manage the agreed services and provide vital contribution in supporting overarching departmental objectives, including sustaining an effective financial performance and ensuring all operational performance targets are met.
- Develop close working relationships with Senior Management Team, Heads of Services, Infection Prevention and Control and other service leads across the Trust.

Person Specification
Experience
- Significant Facilities Management experience in a large and complex organisation.
- Experience of writing and producing reports.
- Experience of managing a flexible, diverse and inclusive workforce with the ability to lead and motivate.
- Experience of managing large and complex budgets.
- Experience of managing external contracts.
Skills
- Good organiser, able to perform under pressure whilst prioritising workload and meeting deadlines.
- Capability to carry out service‑specific inspections and audits of the healthcare environment including patient occupied areas.
- Excellent people management skills, including dealing with complex industrial relations issues.
- Effective communicator at all levels, written and verbal, skilled negotiator.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment, with many tight deadlines and conflicting demands.
- Ability to be tactful and discreet and deal effectively with sensitive issues.
- Evaluates risk and makes decisions and/or advises others on decisions which have long‑term significance.
- Ability to manage a number of ongoing projects.
- Ability to work on own initiative and be proactive in managing the service.
- Must have leadership and motivational skills and knowledge of when to delegate.
- Good level of analytical skills and ability to process complex data.
- Ability to make decisions quickly and assess implications of those decisions based on best information available.
Knowledge
- Computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office (or similar) and advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Complete knowledge of current driving regulations and basic vehicle maintenance.
- Take responsibility for own personal development and have a positive attitude to further training.
Qualifications
- Educated to degree level or significant equivalent experience.
- Hold or be working towards a professional management/leadership qualification.
- CPC Licence.
- Local Security Management Specialist.
- SIA Certificate.
- Membership of an appropriate professional body.
