Job Description:

Leader Education is looking for a genuine and committed Inclusive Education Support Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities at a school in Ashington, Northumberland. This fulfilling role offers the chance to make a real impact by helping pupils with complex needs to flourish both academically and emotionally.

Working Hours

Monday–Friday: 8:00 – 4:00pm

The Role

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Supporting children with complex needs including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and attachment and trauma-related needs
  • Implementing personalised learning strategies to support engagement and progress
  • Promoting positive behaviour in line with school policies
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Encouraging pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have experience working with children with SEND and complex needs (desirable but not essential)
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and resilience
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be adaptable and confident in managing challenging situations
  • Hold a DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one
  • Be committed to supporting children to reach their full potential
