Working Pattern

12 weeks of full‑time training Monday‑Friday 8:00‑16:00. After training, full‑time permanent shift 06:00‑14:00, Monday‑Sunday (five days a week) including weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective preparation of sterile consumables (dressings, linen, instruments, equipment) via decontamination, inspection, assembly and packing within predefined quality standards.
  • Check, wash, lay up and pack sets of theatre instruments to meet contract specifications and quality standards.
  • Safely operate and monitor machines and equipment (washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, sterilisers).
  • Record and log repairs, missing instruments or equipment in the Tracking and Traceability computer system (SynergyTrak).
  • Return repaired instruments or equipment to stock or the appropriate coded sets or the Trust’s appointed person.
