Composite Laminator

Position: Composite Laminator.

Job ID: 3243/2.

Location: Lee On Solent.

Rate/Salary: Depending on experience.

Type: Contract Outside IR35 4 months.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture composite components using hand lay-up, resin infusion, and pre-preg techniques.
• Prepare plugs and moulds, including lay‑up of dry fibre reinforcements, consumables, and vacuum systems.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings, laminate schedules, and work instructions.
• Ensure all components meet quality, dimensional, and cosmetic standards for key customers within Aerospace and Wind Energy sectors.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
• Identify and resolve process or quality issues proactively within a project‑based environment.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proven experience as a Composite Technician, with a strong focus on infusion processes and advanced composite manufacturing methods.
• Good understanding of composite materials including carbon fibre, glass fibre, resins, and core materials.
• Experience with vacuum systems, leak detection, and process control.
• Ability to work accurately, consistently, and to tight tolerances.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Experience in aerospace, marine, automotive, or motorsport composites (desirable).
• Knowledge of health & safety standards relating to composite manufacturing (desirable).
• Experience with tooling, mould preparation, and finishing processes (desirable).
• Experience with electrical installation (desirable).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a composite-related role preferred.
