Travel Consultant – Tour Operator specialising in bespoke small group and individual tours throughout the UK and Ireland
We are seeking a Travel Consultant with Tour Operations experience who builds rapport with customers and uses these relationships to sell bespoke holiday packages.
Job Description
- Respond to enquiries and convert them into tailor‑made holidays.
- Listen to the customer’s needs and organise accommodation, activities and travel to create a unique holiday experience.
- Work in partnership with local businesses committed to quality customer service.
- Use your natural sales skills backed by a strong customer‑service focus.
- Fluent in English with excellent attention to detail in both literacy and numeracy.
- Enjoy working in a fast‑paced yet supportive environment as part of a small team of around 20 people.
- Communicate effectively and be computer literate.
- Possess excellent knowledge of the geography of Scotland and, ideally, England, Wales and Ireland.
- Promote holidays within the UK and Ireland as being as good as overseas options.
- Full‑time position based on a 37.5‑hour week with Mon‑Sat office opening hours.
- Occasional overtime may be necessary at peak times; cover the 24/7 duty rota for customers on holiday.
Package
Starting salary up to £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience) plus a company bonus, with opportunities to experience tours and itineraries. The role can be office‑based in Glasgow, hybrid, or fully remote depending on candidate experience.
Experience Required
- Background as a Travel Consultant within a sales‑focused tour operator environment.
- Good knowledge of the UK and Ireland.
- Experience in luxury tour operators selling international travel is also considered if the candidate seeks a change in direction.
