About the Role
We are seeking a committed and resilient Cover Supervisor to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across primary and secondary school settings. This is a rewarding role for someone passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-planned lessons and activities in the absence of teaching staff
- Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN and SEMH needs
- Promote positive behaviour and de‑escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and support services
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and abilities
- Follow school safeguarding, behaviour, and inclusion policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN and/or SEMH needs (essential)
- Confident managing classroom behaviour in a supportive and consistent manner
- Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
- Relevant qualifications or training (e.g. education, psychology, youth work) desirable but not essential
