Bolton Talent Solutions is building a talent pool of experienced Caretakers and Security staff for temporary agency work at Bolton College.
These roles support the day-to-day running, safety, and presentation of a busy Further Education environment. We are looking for reliable, hands‑on professionals with previous experience in education settings who can step in and make an immediate impact.
Overview of the Role
Setting: Further Education – Estates, Facilities & Site Security
As part of the Estates and Site team, you will help ensure the college remains a safe, secure, clean, and fully operational environment for learners, staff, and visitors.
This is a practical and varied role, ideal for individuals who are proactive, safety‑conscious, and take pride in maintaining high standards across busy sites.
Key Responsibilities
Caretaking Duties
- Carry out general caretaking tasks including cleaning, minor repairs, and basic maintenance
- Prepare classrooms, workshops, and communal areas for daily use
- Support with room layouts and event setup
- Monitor and report maintenance issues promptly
Security & Site Support
- Assist with site security, including patrols and access control
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and site rules are followed
- Respond to incidents and support emergency procedures where required
- Help maintain a safe environment for students, staff, and visitors
Environment
- Busy FE college with high daily footfall
- Mix of classrooms, workshops, and shared spaces
- Strong focus on health & safety, safeguarding, and operational readiness
- Team‑based Estates & Facilities setting
Essential Requirements
- Valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (MANDATORY)
- Previous experience working within an education setting
- Experience in caretaking, facilities, maintenance, or site security roles
- Good understanding of health & safety practices
- Reliable, flexible, and professional approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Experience in FE, schools, or similar environments
- Basic maintenance or trade skills
- Knowledge of site security procedures
