Looking for a hands‑on role where your skills really make a difference? We’re recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Operative to join a leading storage company covering multiple sites across North West London.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a practical, motivated, and multi‑skilled maintenance professional who enjoys variety, working independently, and taking pride in delivering a high standard of work. If you have strong plumbing experience and a solid background in general maintenance, this could be the role for you.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Maintenance Operative, you’ll be responsible for keeping a number of busy storage sites in great condition. Your work will include a mix of reactive repairs and general maintenance tasks across plumbing, carpentry, painting, sheet metal work, and basic electrical duties.
Your Main Duties Will Include
- Fixing minor leaks, replacing taps and washers, and clearing waste pipe blockages.
- Carrying out minor tile repairs and sanitary ware refits.
- Adjusting, rehanging, and repairing doors and lock mechanisms.
- Installing shelving and repairing cabinets, lockers, and trolley decking.
- Carrying out touch‑up painting, floor painting, and repainting of equipment.
- Repairing storage units, signage, security mesh, and damaged panels.
- Replacing lamps and starters in storage and office areas.
- Working safely across multiple sites in North West London.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar maintenance role.
- Strong plumbing experience is essential.
- Experience in a commercial, multi‑site environment.
- Full manual driving licence.
- Good route planning and map reading skills.
- Confident using tools safely and following PPE and health and safety procedures.
- A proactive, reliable, and flexible approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Must live in North London and have access to secure overnight parking.
