Social Worker – Family Safeguarding Team
Location: Lancashire County Council. Pay: £36 per hour. Contract: Ongoing.
We are recruiting a Social Worker to join a Family Safeguarding Team in Lancashire offering a more holistic, relationship-based approach to child protection.

The Role
You will work within a Family Safeguarding model, supporting children and families through structured, relationship-led interventions.
This approach brings together professionals to address risk factors such as domestic abuse, substance misuse, and mental health, helping families stay safely together wherever possible.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload across Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP)
- Undertake assessments and care planning
- Work closely with families to reduce risk and improve outcomes
- Collaborate with multi-agency and specialist professionals
- Apply a strengths-based, relationship-focused approach
- Maintain high-quality case recording and reporting
What we are looking for
- Qualified Social Worker
- Experience within Children’s Safeguarding teams
- Strong understanding of risk assessment and intervention planning
- Ability to build effective relationships with families
- Confident working within a multi-disciplinary environment
