Cleaning Services is a newly developing service with a clear focus on putting patients first. The team plays a vital role in supporting safe, high-quality care by ensuring hospital environments are clean, hygienic, and welcoming for everyone who uses them. Working alongside clinical and operational colleagues, the department supports infection prevention, patient dignity, and the overall experience of care. Pride in the environment, attention to detail, and professionalism sit at the centre of the service.

About the role

As a Cleaning Operative, you will help maintain clean and safe environments across the hospital, supporting patient care in a very practical and important way. Your work helps prevent infection and makes a real difference to how patients, visitors, and staff experience the hospital.

You will carry out cleaning tasks in line with agreed standards and schedules, following infection control and health and safety procedures. The role involves working in a variety of areas, including patient and clinical spaces, and reporting any issues or concerns to your supervisor.

You’ll be part of a team that supports one another and takes pride in maintaining high standards every day.

You are dependable, conscientious, and take pride in doing a job well. You understand the importance of cleanliness in a healthcare environment and are able to follow instructions and procedures carefully.
