Location: Larkhall Children’s Centre

Hours: 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

Work Pattern: Monday – Friday, various shifts between 8am – 6pm.

Hourly Rate: £13.80 – £14.83 per hour.

Responsibilities

You will work as an effective member of the Early Learning and Childcare Team, supporting the delivery of a high quality service that supports children and staff and contributes to a positive ethos. This includes:

  • Supporting the learning and development of young children in early learning and childcare establishments.
  • Communicating effectively with children, parents/carers, and team members.
  • Working as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues and contributing to team goals.
  • Providing personal care where required, ensuring children are supported in a positive and respectful manner.
  • Supporting children displaying distressed behaviours, applying appropriate approaches.

Qualifications

Applicants must register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) as a support worker and hold or be willing to obtain one of the following qualifications:

  • NC in Early Education and Childcare at SCQF Level 6
  • SVQ 2 Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF Level 6
  • SVQ 2 Children’s Care Learning and Development at SCQF Level 2

Support will be provided to successful candidates who do not hold a relevant qualification to obtain one.

Regulatory and Disclosure Requirements

This post is excepted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Scotland Act 2020 and is a regulated role with children and/or adults, requiring disclosure under the Disclosure Scotland Act 2020.

Applicants born outside the UK or who have lived/worked abroad for continuous periods of three months in the past ten years must provide an Overseas Criminal Records Check, translated into English, with an official statement confirming no criminal record proceedings.
