The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity to join a well-established independent Italian Bistro in Long Eaton, known for its authentic fresh food offering, relaxed atmosphere, and quality-driven service.
The kitchen focuses on traditional Italian cooking using fresh, seasonal ingredients, with all sauces, pasta dishes, and pizza preparations made in-house. The menu features handcrafted pizzas, fresh pasta dishes, classic Italian favourites, and regularly changing specials designed around quality produce and simple, honest cooking.
Working within a small and close-knit kitchen team consisting of a Head Chef, Sous Chef, and Kitchen Porter, you’ll play a key role in maintaining consistency, supporting service, and contributing to the continued growth of the business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a chef who genuinely enjoys fresh food cooking and wants to work in an independent environment where quality comes first. The owners are hands-on, supportive, and passionate about creating a strong local reputation built around great food and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook fresh Italian dishes to a high standard
- Prepare homemade pizzas and fresh pasta dishes
- Maintain consistency, presentation, and portion control across service
- Support daily prep and ensure all food is prepared fresh in-house
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness standardsWork closely with the kitchen team during busy service periods
- Assist with stock rotation and minimising waste
- Contribute ideas for specials and seasonal menu additions
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working within a fresh food Italian kitchen is essential
- Passion for authentic Italian cooking and fresh ingredients
- Experience preparing fresh pizza and pasta dishes
- Strong team player with a positive and hardworking attitude
- Organised, reliable, and calm under pressure
- Someone who takes pride in quality and consistency
Working Hours
20 hours over 4 days
- Thursday: 16:00 – 21:00
- Friday: 16:00 – 21:00
- Saturday: 16:00 – 21:00
- Sunday: 11:00 – 15:00
