Job Overview
We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop in Dumfries, Dumfries and Galloway. We offer a permanent part‑time position working a variety of shifts, with a minimum of 16 hours worked over 4 days from 7 each week, including weekends.
Pay & Benefits
- Pay: £10.95–£12.81 per hour (dependent on age)
- Ages 16–20 = £10.95 per hour
- Ages 21+ = £12.81 per hour

Responsibilities
- Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello
- Help customers find the items they are looking for
- Provide fast and friendly service at the tills, offer help to pack and leave a good impression with a friendly thank you and goodbye
- Handle stock with care while working deliveries, quickly placing products into freezers and onto shelves ready for customers to buy
- Work with the rest of the team to complete daily and weekly routines that keep our shops safe, clean and tidy
Requirements
- A friendly, positive, hard‑working approach to work
- Enjoy being busy – jump from putting out deliveries to serving on the till, helping customers on the shop floor, completing cleaning and stock rotation routines
- Be reliable – an important part of a small team; colleagues and customers will depend on you to do your best on each shift and not let the team down
- Be flexible with shifts – rota planned three weeks in advance and commitments outside work considered
- Complete an Employment Verification check if successful
