Private Wealth Tax Associate Director

Salary: up to £100,000 plus benefits
Working pattern: Hybrid (c.50% office-based)
Overview
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client Tax professional to join a growing and dynamic Private Wealth team. This role sits within a high-performing practice advising a diverse portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, families, trusts and internationally mobile clients.
The successful candidate will take ownership of key client relationships, lead on complex advisory projects and play a central role in the continued growth of the practice.
The Role
As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for managing a significant portfolio of private clients, overseeing both advisory and compliance work, and acting as a key point of contact for clients.
You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, supporting senior leadership on complex matters while also taking responsibility for delivering client work to a high technical standard.
This role offers exposure across a broad range of private wealth matters, with flexibility to work across areas such as private wealth, entrepreneurs and trust structuring.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts and entrepreneurial clients
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, taking ownership of relationships and service delivery
- Lead on complex tax advisory work, including:
- Income tax, capital gains tax and inheritance tax planning
- Cross-border and international tax matters (residence, domicile, double taxation)
- Trust and estate planning
- Transactions, structuring and exit planning for entrepreneurial clients
- Oversee and sign off on compliance work, ensuring quality and timely delivery
- Manage workflow, including billing, WIP oversight and delegation across the team
- Collaborate closely with Directors and Partners on more complex engagements
- Support business development by identifying opportunities within existing clients and contributing to new client wins
- Mentor and develop junior team members, supporting training and technical development
- Contribute to internal initiatives, including technical updates, process improvements and knowledge sharing
The Team
The Private Client function is structured across multiple specialist areas, including private wealth, entrepreneurial clients and trust advisory. While aligned to a core team, individuals are encouraged to work collaboratively across the wider group, providing broad exposure to different client types and technical areas.
The team is experiencing sustained growth, with increasing demand for high-quality advisory work and a strong pipeline of new business.
Candidate Profile
- ACA / ACCA / CTA qualified (or equivalent)
- Significant experience in private client tax within a professional services environment
- Strong technical expertise across UK private client tax, with some exposure to international aspects
- Comfortable managing both advisory and compliance responsibilities
- Proven experience managing client relationships and delivering high-quality service
- Demonstrable leadership and team management skills
- Commercially aware, with an interest in business development and practice growth
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
