Job Summary
Royal London Hospital is looking to recruit a Healthcare Support Worker (HCA) Band 3 who will work in the 11D ward – Neurology Patients Investigation Unit.
This post is open to individuals who are both experienced Healthcare Support Workers or those new to care. New entrants will receive support to complete Band 3 competencies and progress into a Band 3 role within six months upon successful completion of all required competencies.
Key Responsibilities
We are looking for compassionate and motivated individuals to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care in a hospital setting. The role involves undertaking a range of delegated clinical tasks, such as:
- Patient observations (e.g., monitoring vital signs)
- Assisting with personal care and mobility
- Supporting patients’ nutritional and hydration needs
- Undertaking limited range of delegated duties (e.g., taking blood pressure, recording ECG, MRSA screening, urinalysis, phlebotomy)
- Simple wound dressings
Strong teamwork and communication skills are essential to ensure the comfort, wellbeing, and safety of patients.
Working Environment
The post holder will work in a tight‑knit, fast‑paced, enthusiastic, friendly, expert Nurse‑Led specialist infusion service, 11D ward – Neurology Patients Investigation Unit at The Royal London Hospital in the East End of London. The post holder will be an integral part of the nursing team, actively participating in meeting the needs of patients with various neurological conditions and the service under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. The post holder will continue to develop essential competencies through training and practice to ensure safety and quality are the priority.
