Job Description:

Locality Facilities Technician – fixed term for 6 months – North West Area.

Salary: £27,257 – £29,850; Hours: 36 per week; Split shift Wk 1 – 7am – 3pm; Wk 2 – 1pm – 9pm (rotating weeks). A driving licence is required & a work vehicle will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Day‑to‑day FM, janitorial and DIY operations across one or more buildings.
  • Minor repairs and general maintenance, including reactive cleaning.
  • Support moves and conduct basic security functions.
  • Equipment, furniture and fitting maintenance.
  • Building maintenance and services.
  • Security of premises and grounds.
  • Grounds maintenance.
  • Cleaning and tidying tasks.
  • Reactive cleaning, portaging duties and litter picking duties.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Valid driving licence.
  • Ability to work a split‑shift schedule and commute across the North West of Edinburgh.
  • Capability to perform minor repairs, maintenance and cleaning tasks.
  • Suitable for joining the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or undergoing a PVG update check.
  • Pass an overseas criminal record check if spent 3 months or more abroad in the last 5 years.

An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre‑employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
