We are thrilled to be opening a brand-new Charity Shop in Langney Road, Eastbourne – and we are looking for volunteers to come and join our Team…

Our shops are a hive of activity and the heart of the local community. They raise funds to support our vital work and provide a place for local people to find out more about how we help older people in their area. Our volunteers always enjoy being part of our shop teams; chatting to our customers about the fabulous items we sell and telling them about the fantastic work that we do.

Responsibilities

• Be the welcoming face on the shop floor, serving customers with a smile and using the till (training provided on how to use the till).
• Handle money and sales accurately and assist with Gift Aid signups on the Gift Aid system.
• Help make the shop look appealing by merchandising, labelling, and ensuring the shop is clean and well-presented.
• Assist with stocking and displaying items prepared by sorting teams and support general shop upkeep.
• Answer customer questions about the charity and refer inquiries to the appropriate contacts within the charity.
• Be comfortable using a touch screen device as part of the till system).

Qualifications and Requirements

• No special skills are required; full training will be provided.
• Ability to volunteer one shift per week (approximately four hours) with flexibility for additional shifts.
• Volunteers should be aged 16 years or older.
