Job Description:

Priory The Spinney is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join the team. This is a full time, 37 hour role which follows a 6 week rota and includes weekends. Priory The Spinney is located within Bamber Bridge, a suburb of Preston, in Lancashire. It offers residential support for three adult males and females, including autistic people and individuals with a learning disability. Our team is dedicated to supporting our residents to have a fulfilled and active life, encouraging dreams, goals and aspirations and designing support around the individual needs of each person we care for, working together to achieve the very best for everyone in a unique, homely atmosphere.

We can also support those who have:

  • Difficulties with communication
  • Mild to moderate behaviour that may challenge
  • Epilepsy

What you’ll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents’ wellbeing. You will take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.

  • Provide personal care and support with daily living tasks.
  • Encourage and assist participation in activities and community life.
  • Support service users in achieving their personal outcomes in the way they choose.
  • Maintain accurate records, care plans, charts, and daily notes.
  • Build positive relationships with service users, families, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Uphold safety, security, and confidentiality in line with policies and regulations.
  • Act as a key worker for individuals, helping them to set goals and track progress.
  • Promote choice, independence, and involvement at all times.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing ideas and suggestions.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • Experience in care or support work (desirable, but not essential – training provided).
