Deputy Head (Pastoral) – Independent Prep School (West London)
Maternity Cover Start Date: September 2026
A highly regarded independent preparatory school in West London is seeking an experienced and compassionate Deputy Head (Pastoral) to join their senior leadership team on a maternity cover basis from September 2026.
This is a key leadership role within a school known for its nurturing environment, strong academic outcomes, and commitment to the wellbeing and personal development of every pupil.
The Role:
- Lead on all aspects of pastoral care and pupil wellbeing across the school
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive school culture
- Oversee behaviour, safeguarding, and pastoral systems
- Work closely with staff, pupils, and parents to ensure high standards of care and communication
- Support and contribute to the wider strategic leadership of the school
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have substantial experience in a pastoral leadership role, ideally within an independent or prep school setting
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
- Be an empathetic, approachable, and confident leader
- Have excellent communication and organisational skills
- Hold relevant teaching qualifications
