A secondary school in Surbiton, Kingston upon Thames is looking for a Pastoral Support Assistant to support pupils who need help with behaviour, attendance, confidence and school engagement. This role sits between behaviour, pastoral care and keeping pupils engaged in school. This is a long‑term role starting in September 2026, with strong potential to continue across the academic year. You will be working with pupils who may need mentoring, emotional support or help staying on track during the school day.
Responsibilities
- Pastoral and behaviour support for secondary‑aged pupils
- Helping pupils manage routines, expectations and relationships
- Working with teachers, pastoral leads and safeguarding staff
- Supporting pupils before issues become bigger problems
Qualifications
- Experience in schools, youth work, mentoring, behaviour support or pastoral care
- Calm and professional communication
- Confidence working with pupils who may push boundaries
- Someone reliable, mature and consistent
Pay: £95 – £115 per day
Location: Surbiton, Kingston upon Thames (KT2 6LX)
