Job Description Summary
Industrialisation Engineer – Manufacturing responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes and systems for GE Vernova’s power electronics products used in global HVDC projects. A visible member of the manufacturing team, the role requires expertise in production processes and systems, working within the SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) framework to drive annual production improvements. The role utilises cutting‑edge technologies to improve safety, production efficiency, product quality, and overall manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has a strong background in engineering principles, manufacturing technologies and a passion for innovation. Continuous improvement and lean methods are applied to remove waste, minimise downtime and meet business targets in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- New Product Introduction and Change Implementation
- Support the industrialisation of new products and product changes into manufacturing.
- Coordinate the implementation of new designs, variants and process changes.
- Work with cross‑functional teams to ensure manufacturability and production readiness.
- Manufacturing Process and Equipment Development
- Capture manufacturing requirements to support the procurement of production and material handling equipment.
- Define and develop manufacturing build strategies with engineering teams.
- Specify, design, purchase, install and commission manufacturing equipment.
- Work with suppliers to develop effective solutions.
- Lead manufacturing projects from conception to completion, managing project timelines, budgets and resources.
- Cross‑functional Coordination
- Complete and participate in Design for Manufacture and PFMEA activities.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, quality and supply chain teams to resolve issues and meet NPI and CI milestones.
- Support supplier onboarding activities for NPI.
- Documentation, Training and Business Systems
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, risk assessments, Management of Change documents and operator training materials.
- Support the setup and ongoing use of manufacturing business systems, including QMS, LMS and equipment software.
- Ensure processes and documentation changes are reviewed, approved and communicated effectively.
- Continuous Improvement and Efficiency
- Develop and support strategies to improve manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste and improve process performance.
- Use Lean tools to drive continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, flow, quality and utilisation.
- Investigate and resolve technical and process issues to improve quality, safety and efficiency.
About You
Good general education, strong communication skills and prior experience in a manufacturing environment supporting production equipment. An enquiring mind and a willingness to learn are essential.
Skills and Experience Required
- Strong commitment to EHS compliance and safe working practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with assembly and test knowledge.
- Experience with automated assembly and test equipment.
- Experience in maintenance strategy, TPM, OEE improvement or reliability‑based improvement activities.
- Experience with PFMEA and Design for Manufacture.
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Good communication skills and willingness to share knowledge.
- SAP experience would be an advantage; full training will be provided.
Additional Skills That Would Be Beneficial
- Experience in advanced manufacturing methods and Lean implementation.
- Knowledge of HVDC product testing.
- Understanding of business principles and cross‑functional working.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001; knowledge of ISO 45001 or equivalent is desirable.
- Experience in New Product Implementation, process development and execution.
- SAP and Lean Manufacturing experience desirable.

Working Pattern
This is a standard working‑hours role on site 5 days a week; however, shift work or weekend working may occasionally be required to support manufacturing output. Occasional travel might be necessary to support actions.
