Yard Operator: Outdoor Loader & Safe Materials Handling

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and physically fit Yard Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with materials handling, loading and unloading goods, and maintaining a safe and organised yard environment. The role is outdoors, in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the movement and positioning of trailers within the yard
• Clean containers and train carriages
• Ensure the yard is maintained in a safe, clean, and organised condition at all times
• Loading, unloading, and heavy lifting
• Work in all weather conditions

Skills and Experience

• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
• Previous experience working in a transport yard, warehouse, or logistics environment is a bonus
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Reliable, punctual, and safety‑conscious

Working hours – 3 week rota

• 06:00-14:00 – £15.45
• 14:00-22:00 – £15.45
• 22:00-06:00 – £16.70
