Job Summary

Hours of work: 30 per week. Working pattern: part‑time, term‑time only (39 weeks per year plus 6.05 weeks annual leave, which increases after 5 years of continuous service). Fixed term: 24 months. Salary is pro rata.

Responsibilities

  • Whole class support: Work alongside a teacher in lessons to support learning, sometimes with a group, other times with the main body of the class. With youngest children this may include play‑based learning outside the classroom.
  • Group support: Work independently with a group of children. This may include running a phonics session to support early reading or facilitating a social skills or nurture group.
  • Individual support: Work as part of a team to meet diverse needs, sometimes on a one‑to‑one basis, especially for children with additional needs.

Qualifications / Requirements

We welcome candidates with experience working with children with diverse learning needs. A caring, patient and adaptable nature is essential. An enhanced DBS check is required, and the successful candidate must not be disqualified under the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018; a self‑declaration form will be required.
