Join Our Occupational Therapy Service – Social Care Worker Roles Available

Based in Penrith (Eden) and Bank Opportunities Across Westmorland and Furness

We’re looking for enthusiastic, holistic, and customer-focused Social Care Workers to join our busy and supportive Occupational Therapy service within Adult Social Care. We have a permanent role based in Eden (Penrith) and bank opportunities across various locations, offering flexibility and the chance to make a real difference in local communities.

As part of our team, you’ll work in people’s homes and communities to support individuals and their carers in achieving their goals, maintaining independence, and living well. Your focus will be on strengths-based, person-centred approaches—whether that’s through advice, signposting, equipment, or adaptations.

About the Role

You’ll support individuals to manage their lives independently by:

  • Identifying adaptive techniques or suitable equipment
  • Working closely with Occupational Therapists and Social Workers
  • Signposting to partner agencies and community resources
  • Promoting independence through rehabilitative and strength-based approaches

You’ll also contribute to assessments and planning, ensuring interventions are safe, practical, and empowering.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re seeking team members who:

  • Have experience in adult social care and supporting people with varied needs
  • Understand the principles of the Care Act and are familiar with Disabled Facilities Grants, Minor Aids, and Adaptations
  • Can explore rehabilitative, compensatory and adaptive approaches before recommending equipment
  • Are confident in working collaboratively with professionals, carers, and wider networks
  • Can explain and reflect on their decisions in a clear, thoughtful manner

Whether you’re interested in a regular position in Penrith or flexible work across the region as a bank worker, you’ll be part of a passionate, forward-thinking team with opportunities to grow. There may also be the chance to develop further through routes such as the Occupational Therapy apprentice course.

If you have any queries about the role or would like an informal chat, please contact Matthew Beaumont on 07769 301871.
