The Headteacher, Governors and children of our friendly school would like to appoint an efficient, caring and self‑motivated Pastoral Lead to start as soon as possible. Key Responsibilities
- Lead behaviour support initiatives, promoting positive behaviour and self‑regulation skills
- Promote a positive, nurturing school culture that prioritises pupil wellbeing, inclusion, and high expectations
- Work collaboratively with staff, families, and external agencies to support pupils’ pastoral needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor pastoral care programmes that support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Support pupils in developing resilience, motivation, and positive relationships, as well as promoting pupil voice and involvement in decisions affecting their wellbeing
- Work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Lead to support vulnerable pupils
- Work as part of the safeguarding team as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL training will be provided as necessary)
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations
- Provide guidance, training, and support to staff on pastoral care, behaviour management, and trauma‑informed practice, coordinating mental health support and staff training on wellbeing
- Engage parents, carers, and external agencies as partners in supporting pupil wellbeing and development
- Coordinate multi‑agency support and interventions for pupils with complex needs
- Maintain accurate records related to pastoral care, behaviour incidents, and interventions
- Contribute to the development and review of school policies related to behaviour, safeguarding, and wellbeing
