Hours: 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Term Time plus 5 days)

Contract type: Permanent/Fixed term Opportunity

This role will be based in one of our Derby Inclusion Hubs.

Successful candidates will have

  • A passion and commitment to working with children with Special Educational Needs
  • Understanding of the barriers to learning that children with special educational needs may face and be able to use effective strategies to support them
  • Experience of developing learning resources that scaffold and support learning
  • Awareness of child development and knowledge of how children learn
  • Experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age to those in the school
  • Communication skills to liaise sensitively and effectively with parents and carers
  • NVQ 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience
  • Literacy and Numeracy skills equivalent to Level 1 of the National Qualification & Credit Framework
  • Completion of Department for Education Teaching Assistant Induction Programme (or to complete within first term)
