2 posts: 1 x 10 hours per week, 1 x 14 hours per week

Team: Sensory Support Team (VI)

The Role:

We are a highly regarded, friendly team supporting learners with a sensory impairment in mainstream settings across the county. This is an opportunity to join us as a Specialist Teaching Assistant working one‑to‑one with children or young people with a vision impairment in their educational setting in Worcestershire. You will be working with Qualified Teachers of Children with a Vision Impairment / Multisensory Impairment, a Habilitation Specialist, and Specialist Practitioners, as well as school based staff.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

We are seeking to appoint a committed, experienced and highly motivated Specialist Teaching Assistant with excellent interpersonal skills and the confidence to support and advocate for the needs of a pupil with a vision impairment. The role requires the ability to travel across the county as there may be opportunities to work in other settings in future. Additionally, you will have experience of working with children or young people and a willingness to learn Braille and access strategies. All necessary training will be provided and you will have a range of CPD and support within the team.

Current Vacancies:

  • 10 hours – St Augtsine’s High School
  • 14 hours – The Coppice Primary School
