What is the job role?

The service will operate across 7 days, Monday – Friday 8.00am – 8.00 pm and Weekends 8.00am – 4.00 pm for which a shift allowance of 10% is paid.

We have a Social Work post within our Hospital Community Discharge team. You will be supporting people living with a wide range of social care issues. There is a real emphasis on promoting independence and supporting safe and timely Hospital Discharge

Our teams embrace strength-based practice, support Making Safeguarding Personal and work within key legislation such as the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005. You will need to have the confidence to advocate for clients and work in partnership with health colleagues’ other statutory partners and voluntary sector providers. As a practitioner you will need to have the ability to be creative, innovative and search for solutions that are not always obvious. Who are we looking for?

We are looking for Social Work England registered (or about to register) Social Workers with a passion for promoting independence and making the principles of the Care Act 2014, a reality for the people of Coventry.

The successful candidates will have:

  • Social Work England Registration
  • Working knowledge of and application of The Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and relevant legislation.
  • Experience or knowledge of safeguarding
  • Organisation, recording and workload management skills
  • Have autonomy and decision-making skills
  • Resilience and flexibility.
