Job Description:

Are you a highly skilled, adaptable professional with the emotional resilience to thrive in a fast-paced alternative provision?

Join us as an Advanced Teaching Assistant, a role that is as challenging as it is profoundly rewarding. You will be a cornerstone of our classroom, delivering targeted interventions and high-quality learning activities to students who have often found mainstream education a barrier, including those with SEND/social, emotional and mental health needs. In this role, you aren’t just supporting academics; you are building trusted relationships and providing the consistency our students need to re-engage with their learning.

About Us

We are a unique centre providing a safe and nurturing environment for vulnerable students who exhibit challenging behaviours and are at risk of exclusion. Our dedicated staff is passionate about providing bespoke, additional support to ensure behavioural, social, emotional, or mental health challenges are never a barrier to success.

With smaller class sizes and an adapted curriculum, we prioritise personal development and student well-being without compromising academic progress. We hold unconditional positive regard for our students, considering strong professional relationships as our first intervention. Our goal is to ensure all students succeed and transition to their next stage with confidence and self-belief.

If you believe every student deserves a champion and share the Outwood vision of raising standards and transforming lives, we would be delighted to welcome you to our team.

Working Pattern

30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term-time only plus 5 days. We have one permanent position and two temporary positions available. Job share will also be considered.

Safeguarding

Outwood Grange Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments are made in accordance with safer recruitment practices and the statutory guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education. Online checks will be carried out on all shortlisted candidates, and all appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and checks regarding suitability to work with children.
