Interim Head of Commercial Finance – 12 month FTC

Location: Central London (Hybrid)

We’re delighted to be supporting a high-growth, multi-brand consumer retail group in the search for an Interim Head of Commercial Finance. This is a pivotal leadership role, partnering directly with the CFO and senior stakeholders to drive commercial performance, strategic decision-making, and continued expansion across the portfolio.

Operating across a multi-site, multi-channel environment, this role will suit an experienced commercial finance leader who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving business.

The Role

• Lead the Commercial Finance function across multiple brands, acting as a key partner to senior leadership and the board
• Own budgeting, forecasting and long‑range planning (including full P&L, balance sheet and cash flow) across the group
• Deliver high‑quality board reporting, providing clear insight on performance, risks and opportunities
• Partner closely with merchandising and product teams on sales, margin and stock planning
• Drive investment appraisal processes, including business cases and post‑investment performance tracking
• Support new business initiatives including commercial due diligence and onboarding of acquisitions
• Build, lead and develop a high‑performing commercial finance team

Candidate Profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with strong academic background
• Proven experience in a senior commercial finance role within a multi‑site, multi‑channel retail environment
• Strong track record of business partnering across senior stakeholders, including board‑level exposure
• Deep experience in stock planning, sales forecasting and margin optimisation
• Advanced financial modelling capability across integrated P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
• Experience leading and developing teams in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment
• Commercially astute, analytical, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, evolving business
