Job Description:

We are seeking to appoint a Level 2 SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils’ learning primarily working within our new Specialist resourced Provision. Our Specialist Resourced Provision supports children with cognition and learning needs.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will be supporting students with learning difficulties/disabilities in mainstream classes and small groups to enable students with SEN to achieve their full potential in school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils individually or in small groups to reinforce learning and promote progress
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson preparation, delivery and classroom organisation
  • Encourage pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development
  • Help maintain a safe, supportive and stimulating learning environment
  • Support pupils with additional needs, following individual education or support plans where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate

  • Holds a relevant Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Has experience working with children in a school or educational setting
  • Is patient, reliable and able to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Demonstrates good communication skills and a flexible, team‑focused approach
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
