Facilities Support Worker – Porter / Courier

Closing date: 01 June 2026.

Work: 23.75 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 14.30 – 19.30 with a 15‑minute unpaid break.

We provide full training and support.

Main duties

Porter/Courier responsibilities include transport and collection/delivery of mail, specimens, pharmacy items, equipment, provisions, laundry, waste and furniture within the trust and to other sites. Duties also include handling and monitoring medical gas, recording and processing paperwork, allocating keys, and assisting with building security. Use of a vehicle for courier duties where supplied.

Staff work on flexible schedules and may work lone or as part of a team. The role is varied and requires working to procedures and schedules.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Portering and/or courier experience.
  • Experience working in challenging environments.
  • Current full driving licence.
  • First Aid course.
  • Dangerous goods safety awareness training.
  • Non‑specified relevant qualification or practical experience may be accepted.
  • Proof of certificates required at offer.

  • Clear communication in English, both verbal and written.

Salary

£25,272 a year pro‑rata (£12.92 per hour).
